Stalin said "quantity has its own quality" because he was willing to gladly sacrifice a large portion of his forces (especially Ukrainians) to eventually overwhelm a technologically superior air force and army. In WWII the Russian Army took about 300% losses but still stormed Berlin with an unstoppable force against a foe with superior armor, jet aircraft, ballistic missiles and even guided "smart" bombs. The key to winning is having depth as well as superior technology and with just a few high-tech aircraft (probably as fragile as the B2 that needs to be coddled when not in use) that during a shooting war against a foe that will accept losses to wear us down, these few planes will quickly become overwhelmed or just inoperable leaving us with what? We need both the F35B as well as wings of F16's that will fly and fly and fly. That's quality AND quantity.
