Are you referring to military pilots? Pension at 20 is 50% of base pay only. If you joined in the last 10 years, it's 40%. Medical is Tricare. It's not free unless you go only to base hospitals, and even then you have bottom priority. Pharma is the same. Optical doesn't exist. Dental costs $90 per month. At age 65, Tricare ends. If you pay for Medicare Part B, you get Tridare-for-Life, which is a Medicare supplement, tying you to Medicare doctors only. It's not close to what we were promised.

Oh, yeah. Of those of us who survived wars, many of us have permanent disabilities from flying those free jets. My messed up back from ejecting from a burning F-4 and ears that never stop ringing weren't really worth the retirement.
