This photo has been around for so long that I am surprised anyone still has questions about it. It's just a gag shot. Sure, it's funny but there is no real mystery to it. After a rain storm flooded the west side of the lakebed, Murphy Green posed with his fishing pole on an "island" adjacent to the RCS pylon access road. And yes, that is snow on the Papoose Range. No real surprise considering the elevation.
