Yes, they used the Predator UAV, which is based in Indian Springs, at the south end of the Ranges. Quite possibly the technology was developed at Area 51.

Originally developed for "reconnaisance" mission, the Predator can now also be equipped with Hellfire missiles, which makes it a low cost and low risk strike vehicle. The downside is that it is not very fast, but I am sure they are working on that...
