OT: Asbestos in Tunnels

OT but we have a lot of urban explorer types on this forum.
I'm planning to hike the Carrizo Gorge railroad in southern California next year. Gorgeous mountain railroad with lots of tunnels and trestles, now used very rarely for actual trains. I've done a lot of hiking in railroad tunnels but got an interesting note from a past explorer who noted that Carrizo Gorge's tunnels have a lot of fine dust in them. He wondered if any of it might be asbestos-related. I don't think asbestos material would be used in railroad tunnel construction (even with timber supports, they are normally just creosoted) but those on this forum who explore tunnels, gold mines, etc., might have different info. Any ideas?
