I'm not really worried about snakes when it comes to walking around during the day. First off, they won't be out much, if at all, in the daytime heat of August.

Also, when you're walking around, they definitely do try to get out of your way.

The part that DOES have me slightly concerned is at night. We're probably going to do the tradition sit in lawn chairs watching the sky activity. And rattlers are nocturnal, in particular in the summer.

What I don't like a lot is sitting in a chair in the dark in snake country....not making noise or vibrations. They wouldn't necessarily know any better than to slither under your chair before figuring out they'd made a mistake.....a mistake you'd pay for with a bite! :-)
