Here's a pdf that has a map (bear ranges are in pink) showing the Black Bears Nevada range.....According to the net the Black Bear is the only native bear to Nevada......The map ranges doesn't show bears in Area 51, however there is an range that looks not too far away...But Bears can't read maps so I suspect they wander into the NTR every once in awhile...especially if food sources become scarce in their home ranges.

The firing/bombing/Red Flag/etc. activities in the NTR would probably scare bears off in any case......
