I've visited the dealers in Vegas and was not impressed.....But, in fairness to all dealers let me point out a few things: Yes, this makes not paying the sales tax impossible, bad for the buyer, but good for the other tax payers and also fair to all dealers. Almost all of the products we sell come to us partially assembled with no gas or oil or serviced batteries. It can take up to 2 hours to assemble and pre delivery service a product for sale(Assembly & Delivery Fee).....who should pay for this? Also the paperwork, who pays to do that?(Doc Fee).....FACT: If I charge MSRP + tax+cost of assembly+ doc fee+ salesman commission..I make 20% on the sale. SO , I am lucky to make 10~12% on most sales. In 2007, I sold 240 units, last year 53. It's tough in our industry right now!
