The Pacific Ocean has been a test area for the military, Atomic Energy Commission (AEC), NASA, etc, etc for many years........We man Kwajalein Atoll IIRC to monitor missile test. One of the guys on Hyperscale is a fireman on Kwajalein(last I heard).........We have a large bases in Guam (Anderson AFB),Hickam AFB in Hawaii and the Naval Base at Pearl are important assets...............
