Yes, you definitely don't want to sunburn your retina. When we first got those metal halide lighting fixtures, nobody wore UV filter eye protection. If you worked on an open fixture while the lamp was struck you would get a mild sunburn on your arms and face. Once my old roommate woke up in the middle of the night screaming. He said it felt like someone rubbed sand in his eyes. He went to the ER and they said his retina was burned. It took him a few days to heal.

I agree a number 10 may cut it, but why take a chance. I may even make the pin prick box just to relive my childhood school experience when life was much more simple!
