Yes, Larry, you are seeing mostly the concrete slabs. I don't see why they couldn't have left the facilities for some future use rather than waste money destroying them. You are correct, the plumes from the engines were invisible, however impurities in the air make it appear you are seeing the exhaust. Much of it you do not see. That was one powerful engine. Good question on the circular roads, I'm not sure their purpose. I will see if I can find the answer. They could possibly be for security patrol.
