I'm trying to remember if it was my SEAL buddy or one of the security guys I met up at INL (Idaho National Lab), but I specifically remember hearing that US Special Forces operators used to go on weekend "backpacking trips" to some of our nation's nuclear facilities just to keep their skills (and the skills of the security forces) sharp. Security response forces must have had some sort of warning so that they didn't open fire with live ammo - so that may give them an unfair advantage... but either way, they wouldn't tell me if the SpecOps guys had ever succeeded in getting in.
