a short time ago approx 1615 was outside here in the High Desert area of CA , observed a dark gray narrow plume almost like a tornado, in the sky to the southwest. The trail hooked almost horizontal into clouds, at a very low altitude.
This did not look a typical ICBM or classified launch from Vandenburg, also, the area it was over was not in the direction of Vandenburg.Possibly off the LA coast?
I do not know if the trail was going up. or going down? The plume was very gray , almost black, no white donut on the rope stuff.
Just a heads up.
