One of the hair-brained plots the CIA was kicking around when they were tasked to assassinate Fidel (The Beard) Castro in the sixties, was to pilot a bomb laden RC (Remote Controlled) airplane into him during one of his many hours-long speeches. That was not done, nor the poisoned cigars either, but it was SERIOUSLY considered. The use of RC/UAV aircraft has been part of the United Stated battlefighting and spec Ops planning for decades. I would guess probably one out of three items tested at Groom actually carries pilots.
