Saw in Aviation Week that former Lockheed chief test pilot David Ferguson recently passed away at age 72. After 100+ F-105 missions in Vietnam (including a lot of Wild Weasel work) he graduated USAF TPS '72 and was then assigned to the 6512th Test Sqdn's "Special Projects Branch" (foreign aircraft evaluation). In 1976, he inspected Belenko's MiG-25 at Hakodate. He apparently was a Red Hats CO? Pete Merlin did I get that right? Also in the YF-117A test program and 1st to fly the YF-22A.
