The new hanger restripe I suspect was to correct a possible faux pas!?!?...(My opinion now!).....I say that because, if you go to your Google Earth, pull down the "view" menu selecting "historical imagery"....you can go back in imagery time.......
The image of 6/28/2009 shows the original stripping....A plane of any size would more that likely have a wheel drop off the apron....No big problem in the desert except if it rains....Then you've got a stuck airplane and it may take time to get it out and the satellite catches it.....not good...
Also in the 2009 image notice the old U2 hangers taxi stripping is fading.....In our latest image the stripping is dark......
