Well, I know somebody who DOES use the system for tracking aircraft - to be specific, aircraft to/from CFB Trenton, on Ontario Canada. I've seen the system in action for myself, and didn't notic any major problems with the operations, once the actual RDF reciever had been 'upgraded' with an add-on capable of microwave tracking. (For the radar signals). Now, of course, the key to any such system's final result is the old Real Estate axiom - 'Location, location, location'. My friend has a very good location for both the sites, and the two sites allow for error correction as they compare data electronically.
