Many years ago, I read a book called "One Perfect Op," by by Dennis Chalker. He talks about members of Seal Team Six branching off to become "Red Cell." The Red Cell team was tasked to test the vulnerability of U.S. military bases to terrorist attack. I doubt they made any penetration into Area 51 or the NTS as not a Naval Base but they said they did conduct security exercises on Nuclear targets such as the Sub Pens in New London, CT. I thought that was the best chapter of the book and often wonder what kind of tests the NTS and Groom Lake conducts. Especially after reading the article on the skeptical hike into NTTR by Jerry Freeman.
