Jason, if I understand you correctly, I have done that very thing, and I have done it with FlightAware. If you input an airport code of an airport near you into the 'AIRPORT TRACKER/INFO' field and then click on 'VIEW ACTIVITY' it will take you to the page of arrivals/departures/enroute information for that airport. Above the arrivals and departure columns is the map of an area surrounding the airport you searched on. Flights to/from the listed airport are in light blue, but flights that are in the area are in green. If you hover your mouse over any of the green ones, you should get the flight info for that flight. I'm going to try to attach a link to a screen capture for a flight just to the NW of KLAS. This image doesn't show the mouse cursor, but does show the information for the flight the pointer was over. Hope this helps.
