Thank you all for good info on the land purchase. They say Nellis is concerned about rapid expansion of LV residential area which is about to engulp the base - like on the southeast side of the base near the LOLA or Golf Revetments. I initially thought the purchase was to prevent more new houses (i.e. noise complaints) from being built around the base. I sure hate to see any fence built around my favourite viewing spot.
