Yes I thought that too, presumably you need fewer of them to achieve you objective a bit like how the LGB's have made carpet bombing a thing of the past. As modern day warfare now seems to be mainly on the ground often in populated areas where civilians are present and disgustingly used as a sheild this is the way to go.
