The talking heads on the news said the dome on the rear rotor was two-fold...1)protect the blades, 2)as a radar beam(s)deflector.....

Also have seen pics of a similar "cap dome" on the main rotor.....
I suspect even though the center of rotors turn, it's not enough to escape radar beams detecting it....

The real question is how do they deaden/reduce the rotor noise???????????....I know nothing about acoustics........
