OT: X-15 (the movie)

Through the wonders of Netflix, I recently watched X-15, a film from 1961 starring David McLean and Charles Bronson. It was Richard Donner's first film as director (he went on to do The Omen, Superman, Lethal Weapon series, etc. Jimmy Stewart narrates (Brigadier General Stewart, USAF, that is, pilot of both B-17 and B-58).

Frankly, this film is 15 minutes of great stock footage of X-15 operations at Edwards bookended with 100 minutes of awful dialogue: it's begging for a Mystery Science Theatre treatment. When Charles Bronson's F-100 crashes, killing his character, you can't help but thinking his character is now much better off than the rest of the cast.

No doubt Pete could identify each moment of stock footage and match to the actual date... ;)
