Well, whatever that "something" was, it created one heck of a blaze, and managed to burn with bright orange, almost white flames for several hours. I suppose due to the intense heat firefighting efforts would have been pointless and they just let it burn out. Interesting that it missed the Groom Lake Road Guard Shack only by a few miles.
