Don't sweat the spelling. When I was an aeronautical engineering student in the late 1960s there was a joke about the graduate that said "Four years ago I could not spell engineer and now I are one."

If you love the work, don't mind catastrophic job instability and getting no respect, aerospace engineering is great.

If you mind the fact that you may end up driving a taxi cab at any moment because a president decides to dump the space program, a new administration wants different campaign contributors than the last, or your congressman drops the ball on bringing home the bacon, find a different line of work.
