If you would like information on what, when and why the 787 is flying, let me know and I'll contact my buddy who is lead engineer on the project. It's hardly classified. But if you are really asking because you are intrigued with the mode s box, well..... PS-Mode S is transponder data superimposed onto radar information. It usually doesn't mind "dark and cloudy".
