Yes, that was exactly my impression. I never saw the two AWACS, only heard them on the scanner. Callsigns were "Vampire 31" and "Vampire 32".
I did not pick up the plane overhead on the scanner, nor was I able to identify it. It was all lit up, but in a way that made it hard to tell what it was.
And before speculations go too wild here, please let me emphasize that I THOUGHT I saw a red ACL in the airspace near the north gate guard shack. That is all I saw of the "mystery plane". For all I know it could have been the Pavehawk helicopter.
