Since this is in broad daylight, I wonder if any of the initial flight tests of the F-117's ever flew outside of the immediate airspace above Groom Lake, or if these first daylight flights were always kept very low and only directly above the lakebed?

My guess is that this could have been seen from Freedom Ridge.

I wonder when any residents of Rachel first had any clue at all about what was happening on the "other side" of the mountain range?
