With that much restricted land around it. That much restricted airspace above it. So many mountain ranges. The capability to fly at night and no one would even know even with the most sophisticated gear. The capability to use neighboring government facilities as an excuse for projects. To have so many facilities all over the country controlled by Groom. The daily transport planes for workers. I can't really think of any other place like it. People might say the Dugway Proving Ground in Utah. But no. At least NOT for aeronautical testing. The NNSA just changed the Nevada Test Site's name to the Nevada National Security Site. They plan on upgrading all the facilities within the NNSS for new projects. That shows you the military range in Nevada is a military favorite. Nevada is beginning to be a CIA magnet again with all the Drone testing aka UAV. Example the RQ-170. Also facilities in Nevada with the capability to supply and control UAV'S in war zones over seas. Nellis AFB is a huge customer and operator in the Nellis Range Complex. So to answer your question NO i don't know of a place that has so much advanced training/technology around it. Groom to this day is barely acknowledged. 55 years later and operations are TOP SECRET. But thats a great thing. That is whats keeping us alive. So leave the place alone respect the people there and hope they do what they do for a very long time. Thank you for your time.
