I can vouch for Rodeo65's info about the security beacon and protocols. I've been to two meetings at WPAFB and GE-Evandale where they used it due to my presence. The security beacon was a little battery powered box with a rotating red beacon on top that resembles the single roof lights on old cop cars. My escort had it when he came to get me, turned it on once we entered a secured area, and left it turned on outside the door of the conference room the whole time I was in there. Also at the beginning of the meeting my escort reminded everyone that there was an un-cleared person present. I've been to both these facilities (not the same areas though) a number of times discussing similar work but the security beacon was only used on those two occasions. I also noticed the absence of all the usual drawings ("prints") and parts and pictures one typically sees laying around at visits to customer's engineering departments. Maybe if there was I would have got to wear the blur goggles!
