It means you own the airplane and fly it around without paying customers.

It would be like if one of us went out and purchased a 737. The rules that we would have to fly it under are much different than the rules that SouthWest flys its 737 under.

Don't get me wrong... The Pilot would still need a type rating (license for that kind of airplane)and the mainteance would need to be well taken care of. But the FAA would not be watching over your shoulder nearly as bad.
