Funny, it sounded pretty definitive to me! I was witness to the near-dismantling of NASA after the last Apollo. It was not pretty and the knowledge and experience loss together the interruption of progress that will happen after the last shuttle lands will make the best minds thinking twice on any future careers in aerospace. Granted the program is expensive, but just how much did America gain or have its national pride increased in the entitlement programs that the transferred funds enriched? In my lifetime we will have gone from a spacefaring nation to one that will to ask the Russians to launch people for us. How nice. I do agree on the space station - I hope miniskirts and go-go boots will be the uniform of choice. Too bad it will be on female Chinese astronauts.
