A-10s are fairly common in the area. i doubt it is coming from or going to groom. they can be quite quiet especially from certain angles and approaching you. the twin tails cover line of sight to the engines in some situations.

several months ago i saw them on consecutive days doing some type of low maneuvers way off to the right of 375 in the valley as you are going northbound to go over coyote summit. they were literally a few feet off the deck.
