Hi Joerg, Yes I think that It is the Desert Lake that I referred to... on google you can see the trail to it and there appears other trails, but I have No doubt they will have security gates... When I very briefly visited the Area last year just driving past...nearby the Mail Box.. I noted a trail heading down inbetween the Tickaboo mountains and the Mountains in front of Groom lake... I assume this is out of bounds.. and Cammeo only. I may chance a 2wD suv if a 4 wheel drive cannot pass the 22 mile mark...but only if I can find out that the trail is drivable after the winter.. If need be ..do you know if you can hire a 4 WD from Alamo or around the area for a day ? I was wondering if It was still freezing in the night and suspected that may be the case.. Thank you..
but maybe that trail eventually heads towards Desert Lake...
