This site is your best source on the net for credible info on Groom. As far as a history on Groom Lake and black projects there, I would click on the link on the left titled Black Projects, and read the articles under the title "Historic Black Projects at Area 51". Those articles by Pete Merlin really give a ton of true info on the beginnings and various projects developed through the years at the Groom Lake Facility. Have fun researching!
