Besides chase and other test support, F-16s are used for classified avionics development and other system and weapon related tests. At least some of these airplanes are undoubtedly from the Special Projects Flight of the 416th Flight Test Squadron from Edwards Air Force Base. Previously, F-16s underwent low-observability improvements under Project HAVE GLASS.
