Excellent thread, please keep it going. This is how new insights are gained: Throw out ideas, and sort out what makes sense and what does not.

I keep coming back to the berm east of the new hangar, and its alignment. A view screen could have been constructed easier and cheaper, similar to the screen around the extensions to H-19. Sound deflection, as has been suggested before, would make sense. I believe that the loud engine noises that are being heard around the ranges lately are significant.

In our 2009 sat. image, the markings for the short runway 12/30 (the former southern taxi way) have been removed. That could indicate that whatever UAV or other small craft was tested there has moved on, and the new primary project needs a longer runway. Just some more random thoughts. Comments welcome.
