So there you have it Watcher. You should get a telescope that you can genuinely carry up the peak without killing yourself. Check the weather also. It makes a huge difference since it is such an important part of the equation. Like Joerg mentioned the wind can really cause problems. On one occasion I found myself battling a lot of wind and it single handedly reduced the detail of my photos by probably 50%. It also didn't help that I didn't have a very good tripod to mount the telescope on either. Bring up a really robust tripod or telescope mount.
