It has been years since I was up there, but you should be able to see it from Alamo Road near 36° 46.218'N / 115° 17.924'W, or from the higher ground east of the road, which is public land. There are "Restricted Area" signs along the west side of the road. Last time I was up there, the road was closed at the south end of Desert Lake. There was no way to drive all the way through to Alamo. Not sure if it has been repaired since then...
