Just think, Those guys with "The Right Stuff" had figured it out and tested it at Dreamland, Area 51 nearly 50 years ago.

"We at the Skunk Works believed that the airplane's height and speed, as well as its pioneering stealthy composite materials applied to key areas of its wings and tail, would keep it and its crew safe, but we fortified that belief by adding a special additive, which we nicknamed "panther piss", that ionized the furnace-like gas plumes streaming from the engine exhaust. The additive caused enemy infrared detectors to break up incoherently.

Dan,
I remember that a Cesium additive was tested to reduce the reflective nature of the AB plumes. It was known as A-50 additive. I know nothing about it’s effectiveness.

A-50, which disguised the exhaust's radar signature. As a result, JP-7 was claimed to be more expensive than single malt Scotch whiskey, which contributed to the $24-27,000/hr cost of operating the SR-71.

Here is a good one for all the "Stealth Gurus" out there.

Check out the link and see what was presented at the Electromagnets Research Symposium Proceedings, in Moscow last month.
