A new thread may be a good idea but I'm extremely satisfied with the AirNav box which came with a one year on-line subscription but the unit operates in standalone mode with the included magnet mount antenna. The box plugs into the USB port which supplies the power. I logged several hundred aircraft while we were camped at Cedar Pipeline Ranch. Not all aircraft (fighters)use Mode S but I log at least 1,000 other planes a day. One is available at an on-line auction place for a little more than I payed. Lastly adopt? Sure! If you let me drive the Hummer Son. HeHe
