Much of the data and technology from TACIT BLUE, flown at Area 51 from 1982 to 1985, contributed to development of the B-2.

The B-2 itself made its first flight from AF Plant 42, Palmdale, California, on 17 July 1989. B-2 flight testing took place primarily at Edwards AFB but low-observables (stealth) tests were accomplished using the radar range at Groom.
