I haven't looked at that area in GE in a while. Please note that, while the coordinates I gave in the article suggest 1 minute accuracy, they are only a best guess from lining up photos I took of the event with features visible in GE. They can easily be 1/2 mile or more off.

I am not sure that I see the circular spot you are referring to. Are you sure about the coordinates? A fire of that magnitude would leave scars easily visible on GE, but 10 years is a long time for vegetation to come back....

The top of the wash just north of the second set of coordinates I gave in the article appears to have noticeably less vegetation. That is the area that is still smoldering in my "morning after" photo.

There is an interesting scar about 1/2 mile NNE, at 37° 22.053'N / 115° 42.398'W, but it does not seem to line up with my photos.
