What pictoral evidence there is seems to indicate that F-16s are generally tasked with GLR security but it's very possible that that is not always the case.

Assuming the combat aircraft operating from Groom are detached from Nellis and WA houses both -15 and -16 units among others then who knows what kind of mix you could have.


By the by, does anyone know if the combat detachments at GLR are permanently based there or rotate through? It doesn't appear that an entire squadron (which would be 24 aircraft) are stationed there for pure base purposed so I wonder where they are drawn from.
