Took me a while to check back in, sorry. They are either painted in Bangor or Miami. The overseas ferry flights were logged by Shannon spotters with each aircraft in an all-white scheme. I can verify that each one I saw (four of the six) had a red stripe upon arrival at Patterson. Remember, each had the registration changed after arriving in Miami...and when that happens, the new numbers are painted on - it would make sense to put on the stripe at the same time. I would take a guess that the any special avionics and UHF radios (possibly HF as well) were installed at Patterson, since airborne checks were performed prior to departing to McCarran.
