When they put up the fence I went looking for a different view spot. This included the ballfield at the end of Los Feliz. This is off Lake Mead Blvd. Not sure you can see the track from there. I then went north on Lake Mead about a mile or so. Just past all the residences. On the left hand side (west) their are some hills that hide the base but are easily climbed. When I went up I was parallel with the prison. This may be a spot to see the track or pretty close to it.
