I'm thinking the new hangar could very well be intended to hold a very large wingspan vehicle like this (linked). Along the lines of truth (sadly) usually being far more mundane than fiction and in keeping with (as Peter Merlin says) the more recent trend to HALE: it could be fairly fragile and autonomous, meaning it would require careful handling on the ground, and plenty of clearance when taxi-ing, it's own parking spot to get charged up for Testing and a backdoor on the Hangar to allow it to be pulled back in - and then move straight forwards out the other side ('reading' and following the taxi-line?) for it's next flight?
