I should also mention that it gives has support for HDR (High Dynamic Range) image sets, which might be of use with future panoramas. Basically, by shooting an image as a normal exposure, then 2 stops or more over and under exposed, you can get more detail in both shadows and highlights than otherwise. Hugin is set up to be able to take those image sets and turn them into HDR panoramas.
