You are correct, in the mission's you describe the B2 is a good plane but the quantity we presently have is sufficient for that role. As far as maintenance and operational costs go the B52 is a much more effective plane. It can also carry a larger payload farther which is another advantage in that kind of operations that are the norm in today's world.
