This is one example of a mountainhangar. F 9 Save Bergsdepa (mountainhangar) Many of these hangars where built in the WW2 era and where originally ment to serve as ammunition storage and/or commandcenters. Some more info, I have not found many sites that has info about this in english, sorry. More bases with mountainhangars (no hangars are in use today) To my knowledge there has been no “Black Projects” in these hangars. If there is anything else i can help bring light to or if there is any questions i will be glad to help.
(As has been discussed in the forum 05/08/2009)
N 57.77472 E 11.87028 Entrance
Size: 22.000 m2 (200.000 sq ft)
Used for weaponsloading, refueling, general maintenece, storage, livingquarters and commandcenter.
Also used for having planes fully fuelled, armed and ready for takeoff (I think its called scramble)
Base decommissioned in 1969.
Now serves as public airport, mountainhangar as a museum.
But when the cold-war era began many where rebuilt and converted to hangars.
The main purpose of these hangars was to protect the planes and people from a nuclear strike and also keep the number of planes you have hidden.

I’m not even that sure that Sweden has ever had any black project on the same scale as the ones going on at Area 51.
